I really love the podcast and listen all the time. What I am looking for is some kind of Spanish language site where I can either take conversational classes on line or join a spanish language chat group to practice my Spanish. Can anyone offer any ideas. thanks
Derek
Hey Derek, I'm so glad you like the podcast. Sorry for the delayed response. I'm the hospitalist this week!
With regards to interactive sites. You should check out: Livemocha. I've been really happy with my experience there exchanging language instruction with people from all over the world.
This web site has over three hundred videos of music and conversation. You can choose to hear people speaking normally or you can slow down the conversation. It also has transcripts in english and spanish, which you can see or hide. This site helps to practice my "ear" for spanish.
Subscribe to Cody's Cuentos, fairy tales in Spanish, through Itunes. The audio download is free and the supporting materials are very reasonably priced. Excellent bedtime stories.
www.spanishpodcast.org - transcripts of dialog on various topics which can be translated easily if you load the online Oxford Spanish dictionary.
Thanks for posting these. The same woman who heads off Cody's Cuentos (one of my favorites, too) does another Podcast on learning Spanish called Voices en Español. She covers a wide range of topics which pertain to those learning Spanish. In fact she recently did two podcasts covering www.spanishpodcast.org which you mention above.
Hi all! I've been meaning to add my 2 bits for some time now. Here are some of the resources I've found helpful. I'll add more as I think of them.
www.language-exchanges.org - the mixxer is a free service that connects you with a skype, chat or email exchange buddy. A message gets sent to your email when someone is interested in an intercambio.
mylanguageexchange.com - same concept as above but with additional resources. with the free service you can't contact people you'd like to be buddies with, instead those with paid service contact you. interested buddies contact you through Skype.
espanglishchat.com - i wouldn't recommend the chatroom but some of the other materials on the site are worthwhile
spanishpronunciation101.com - i hadn't realized just how many errors i was making with my spanish pronunciation until i checked out this website and the associated podcasts.
http://www.learner.org/resources/series75.html - 52 half-hour episodes of a soap opera that provides language instruction as the story develops. it's been around for a long time, but helped me shift into an intermediate spanish student.

Follow the adventures of Facu and Loli as they travel from Argentina to Alaska. Great way to learn colloquialisms along the way.
